Recently, the UK submitted an application to join the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Pact, formerly known as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Notably, Mexico is already a participant in this agreement, and there are expectations that the USA will join under the new Biden Administration.
Many investors are emphasizing Mexico's logistical advantages, particularly concerning the value chain to the USA market. These advantages include:
- The shared time zone,
- Over 2,000 miles of shared border,
- The significant volume of truck crossings annually,
- Competitive labor costs,
- And numerous other factors.
As a result, Mexico is increasingly viewed as a pivotal element for new investment ventures in the region.
UK policymakers perceive this move as an opportunity to maintain market share in the lucrative North American Market.
