Onilog has been involved in an unprecedented and highly significant event for Mexico's productivity, the signing of the 10 labor commitments between the National index and the representatives of workers in the country. This event took place within the framework of the Third National Labor Forum index 2021.

This is a signature that is taken very seriously by the presidents of the 21 index associations in the country, and it will have a very positive impact, said the president of the National Council of the Maquiladora and Export Manufacturing Industry (IMMEX), Luis Manuel Hernández González. He led the event along with the head of the Dignified Labor Unit of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, Alejandro Salafranca Vázquez, representing the secretary, Luisa María Alcalde.

At the event called "Labor Compliance and Social Security 2021," the following individuals participated:

  • Reyes Soberanis Moreno, General Secretary of the COR and President of the Labor Congress. 
  • Deputy Isaías González Cuevas, General Secretary of the CROC and Secretary of the Labor and Social Welfare Commission of the Chamber of Deputies. 
  • Fernando Salgado, Substitute General Secretary of the Confederation of Mexican Workers (CTM). 
  • Pedro Haces Barba, General Secretary of CATEM.

They reaffirmed their absolute willingness and assured that it is a highly commendable action by the National index.

Luis Manuel Hernández, after emphasizing the great importance that the signing of these 10 commitments represents for index recalled that the sector it represents generates more than three million direct jobs in Mexico. It has always stood out for providing better salaries and benefits to workers, surpassing what is mandated by law.

On the other hand, Salafranca Vázquez assured that each and every participant has open doors at the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, along with support for whatever they may need.

The 10 Labor Commitments of the National index Council are:

  1. To recognize work as a human right.
  2. To promote dignified or decent work in all labor relations.
  3. To respect for freedom of association and effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
  4. To advocate for labor justice in our workplaces.
  5. To eradicate all forms of forced or compulsory labor.
  6. To eliminate discrimination in employment and occupation.
  7. To contribute to creating acceptable working conditions regarding minimum wages, working hours, and occupational health and safety.
  8. To promote and monitor training, apprenticeship, job training, and certification of labor competencies.
  9. To safeguard substantive equality in all workplaces and foster conditions for equal pay.
  10. To comply with the law and respect international commitments that promote investment in Mexico, increase business productivity, and enhance the well-being of workers.
